Bishop Schneider to visit U.S., speak on liturgy

His Excellency Athanasius Schneider, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Mary Most Holy in Astana, Kazakhstan, will visit Washington, D.C., this weekend to deliver a talk entitled "Some Aspects of the Renewal of the Church and Its Liturgy."

Bishop Schneider is the author of Dominus Est, and a friend to the traditional Latin Mass and teachings of the Church.

The talk will be on Saturday, 14 February 2015 at 2 p.m. at Annunciation parish, located at 3810 Massachusetts Avenue, Northwest, in Washington, D.C.  It is open to the public.

The visit from the bishop is being organized by the Paulus Institute, which most recently sponsored a pontifical High Mass in Washington, D.C., offered by Bishop Thomas Paprocki.  Unfortunately due to various circumstances, Bishop Schneider will not be offering a public traditional Latin Mass using the Cæremoniale Episcoporum during his stay in Washington, however there will be a reception with the bishop that, like the lecture, will be open to the public.  Hosted by the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP), the reception will follow the talk on 14 February at Annunciation parish.
