For the record: Linking some dots, on the record, regarding Ivereigh's "Team Bergoglio" and the 2013 Abdication and Conclave

1. Card. Murphy-O'Connor disclosed in an exclusive interview with the Herald last September:

Cardinal Murphy-O’Connor said: “All the cardinals had a meeting with him in the Hall of Benedictions, two days after his election. We all went up one by one. He greeted me very warmly. He said something like: ‘It’s your fault. What have you done to me?’

2. From Pope John Paul II’s sternly worded Apostolic Constitution of 1996:

"the Cardinal electors shall further abstain from any form of pact, agreement, promise or other commitment of any kind which could oblige them to give or deny their vote to a person or persons. If this were in fact done, even under oath, I decree that such a commitment shall be null and void and that no one shall be bound to observe it; and I hereby impose the penalty of excommunication latae sententiae upon those who violate this prohibition. It is not my intention however to forbid, during the period in which the See is vacant, the exchange of views concerning the election.

I likewise forbid the Cardinals before the election to enter into any stipulations, committing themselves of common accord to a certain course of action should one of them be elevated to the Pontificate. These promises too, should any in fact be made, even under oath, I also declare null and void."

3. Remember....
The strictures of the pre-conclave on Francis's governance. Agreements connected to the election of a pope are illicit and invalid. But the actual practice comes very close

P.S. Yes, the former Cardinal Bergoglio is the current Bishop of Rome, we have never denied this, quite the opposite. But, as we emphasized in our recent post, there is a whole world of honest investigative reporting waiting to happen on the 2011-2012 crisis that led to the 2013 Abdication, the factors and elements and persons leading to the Abdication itself, and the pre-conclave and conclave. These will not go away, but will rather grow exponentially as doubts mount.
